Good evening everyone,
Fantastic job at the sectional meet on Saturday. The boys team placed 3rd of 14 and the girls 4th of 14! Swimmers combined to set 66 season-best times with 17 swimmers advancing on to the district meet this Saturday at CSU! I can't say enough about how proud we are of everyone's hard work to reach these results. It has been a fantastic championship season that started with tremendous time drops two weeks ago at Canton Champs! Now we are ready to keep the success building with the district meet! Please take a look at the reminders, especially for sectional swimmers and district qualifiers about the last chance sprints tomorrow after school. Reminders:
1.) We will have touchpads in tomorrow for a last chance sprint meet of sorts at the start of practice. Anyone that swam sectionals and would like to get a time is encouraged to come and do any races of your choosing (50s and 100s). District qualifiers, this will be your sprint portion of practice for tomorrow. Regular practice will follow. Please note the flex/extended time for practice tomorrow. We estimated long; we may finish early depending on how long the sprint portion takes.
2.) Relays are tentative and may change based on performance and attendance during the week.
3.) Please try your hardest to make each day of practice on taper. We want to conserve energy as we drop yards and intensity of our final practices to set us up for the best possible time drops at our respective championship meets. This is a scheduled controlled drop, with each day having an impact. One missed day can dramatically throw off the results. Try to avoid activities that take a lot of energy or might lead to injury, especially lifting, etc. Avoid junk food, go with carbs before we swim. Last, make sure you are getting a good night of sleep. Remember that taper works as well as what you put into it!
